Monkey tour: Endangered monkeys (primate species) of Benin
Day 1: Cotonou – Kikélé
Early in the morning, we will leave for Kikélé a village of Bassila district located at 65 km from Cotonou.
There, you will learn about the history of Kikélé village, the role of each socio-cultural group in the management of the village, and local people activities.
Overnight stay in tents, because it is a village no hotel.
Day 2: Kikélé – Abomey Calavi
In the morning after breakfast you will go in the sacred forest of Kikélé to observe the tame white tithed black and white colobus (Colobus vellerosus), the biggest anthropoid species of the country.
In the afternoon after lunch, we will drive to Abomey Calavi.
Overnight stay and dinner in hotel.
Day 3: Abomey Calavi – Drabo – Cotonou
After breakfast you will visit the “Sanctuaire des Singes de Drabo”. In the forest tour you will be able to observe the tame red-bellied guenon (Cercopithecus e. erythrogaster), an endemic species of Togo and Benin.
After lunch you will drive back to Cotonou.
